From Pastor Ryan…
Have you ever struggled with focus?
If you haven’t, let’s connect and figure out your secret!
Many years ago when Jesus was born in Bethlehem, there was a whole nation that missed his arrival because they were not focused on the right things. Jerusalem had a wake-up call not long after, when some wise men from the east showed up to ask about a new born king (Matthew 2). Still, their focus didn’t seem to improve over the next 30 years.
How did they miss Jesus?! What was their focus?
Our ability to focus is one of our greatest challenges and one of our greatest opportunities in life. An opportunity, because there are some really great things to focus on (God, family, etc). A challenge, because there is one who “prowls around…” yes, to devour… but also I believe to distract us from focusing on these good things.
What are you doing today to make sure your life is focused on what really matters?
How can our story be different than that of those in Jesus’ time?
A start of an answer – do what Jesus did.
Have a wonderful week and may you focus on Jesus today!
SAVE THE DATE
Becky Wilson is flying south!
Join us for a Farewell Car Parade in the church parking lot on Sabbath, January 2, at 3:00pm. Let’s share our appreciation for all she has done for our church community and wish her well as she moves to be closer to her sister in sunny Arizona.
As part of his senior year at Columbia Adventist Academy, Bryce Cassagneres is completing a senior project. He has chosen to focus on impacting others by detailing three community members’ cars. He has created a Google Form that he would like you, the members of Adventist Community Church, to fill out if you are interested in having him detail one of your cars.
